Behind the Scenes: Deli 4 You Algonquin - Chicago Grocery Lighting
All store lighting designs start with a concept. In the case of Deli 4 You, the concept is an open, European feel with an emphasis on product presentation through light quality. To achieve this we utilized light fixtures tailor made for each application. During design we create a 3d rendering of the space to ensure the proper amount of light and contrast is achieved to give the perfect end result…. before the lighting is even ordered! Produce
In produce, we utilized Baero’s Ontero EC track light to present the products with excellent color quality. Paired with the track fixtures are the Luxco US Highbay fixtures for general lighting at high color quality. Our rendering (left) allowed us to get the perfect lighting contrast and consistency to draw the customer’s eye to the produce (end result; right). Beautiful displays and not a hotspot in sight!
Deli
The showstopper at Deli 4 You is the deli and meat counter. We utilized Baero’s “SpecialMeat” color in front of the cases to really bring out the colors of the sausages, meats, and smoked fish. Luxco US Linear was used to give a modern look with excellent color quality behind the counter. Just as in produce, the rendering was used to ensure the correct light levels and contrast.
Aisles and Endcaps
Aisles and endcaps are often overlooked for quality lighting even though they represent a large percentage of the sales floor. We utilized Luxco’s US Linear once again to match the light behind the service counters. The US linear is capable of extraordinary light quality for aisles and general spaces at a great price. The perfect value proposition for this project. In our renderings the shelves are empty so we take light level reading at the front of the shelves.
Bakery
Bakery is another special department at Deli 4 You so we needed to make sure the baked goods that are made in store look their best. To achieve this we used the same light families as we did in the deli and meat departments for a consistent look. The big difference is utilizing Baero’s “GoldenBread” light color.
Supply
Once designs are approved by all parties, JLH Lighting then procures all of the lighting and track to combine into one shipment to deliver exactly when needed.
